The vintage wear in my closet
Long before Peebles Creative Group was ever imagined, I made a new friend at work with the last name of Hanna. We became fast friends and at some point he introduced me to his uncle Jack. His uncle Jack – Jack Hanna – yeah, that Jack Hanna – was almost immediately fascinated by my ability to draw. Not nearly as fascinated as I was frightened by the full-grown mountain lion he introduced me to once, but that’s another story. At some point, not long after meeting him, he asked me to “draw up” a few t-shirts to sell at his place in Montana. I would have sworn there were no longer any of those Montana Hanna t-shirts in my possession; however, my son recently discovered one while searching for “cool vintage wear” in my closet. So, it’s safe to say, Jack Hanna has been in my thoughts lately.
Last June, the Hanna family courageously shared Jack’s struggle with Alzheimer’s disease. A couple of days ago, they provided an update about Jack’s progress since that article was published. The news was not great. But, know this – Jack Hanna will always be great. He loved what he did and you could never doubt it. And, because of this, seeing my son wearing this “new” shirt makes me smile.
