Dr. Kathryn D. Sullivan

We met Kathy during her time as President and CEO of COSI, where she landed after serving as a crew member on three Space Shuttle missions and becoming the first American woman to walk in space. After leaving COSI, we created a brand identity for Kathy that represented both space and sea. She then became Under Secretary of Commerce for Oceans and Atmosphere and Administrator of NOAA: the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. On June 7, 2020, Kathy became the first woman to dive to the Challenger Deep in the Mariana Trench, the deepest part of the Earth’s oceans. Before her most recent adventure, we were invited to create a mission patch for the accomplishment. The only requirement was to include “The Most Vertical Girl in the World,” for that she is! Kathy left hand prints on Hubble and went to the depths of the ocean. It was an honor to have something we created go along for the ride.
